Happy Leap Day!
I haven't blogged in so long! Mainly because I had taken the months of January and March off from photo shoots.
No more!
I have photo shoots the next 2 weekends... be ready for some previews. One is even pictures for an album of musician Bill Brimer!
(way cool.)
When I am not a photographer I am a Child Life Specialist at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
Through my job there, I have been blessed to work as a camp director for several camps of kiddos with Hand Differences (i.e. Missing hands/fingers/arm/etc.) This is busy season of planning! LOVE IT!
I love hands. I have a bracelet with a hand charm I wear everyday to remind me that Nothing Is Out of Reach for my campers. They inspire me constantly!
A couple of great resources:
Lucky Fin Project (order a bracelet or t-shirt!)
Hands Down Support Group
Nubability Athletics
Can not wait to see what Spring has to bring!

{In a year.}
I read Karen Russell's blog religiously. She is amazing. She blogs about her blended family, photography tips, parenting joys and struggles, fun adventures, parties, the good times and the bad. Currently, she is blogging about raising her family as a single mom while her husband is deployed.
She has inspired me for about 5 years now (and I have never even met her!)
Today she blogged an amazing post about running a triathlon with her sister and best friend... again the good AND the bad...
She posted a philosophy that someone had told her years ago when she was struggling...
Time is inevitably going to pass and one year from today, you can find yourself in the exact same spot you're in now, you can find yourself further away from your goal or you can find yourself closer to your goal - so where do you want to be a year from now?
Whoa.
Stop me in my tracks.
On December 31, 2011, i definitely found myself further away from my goal than i was on January 1, 2011.
Not this year!
Thanks Karen for your always insightful, and inspiring words.

{believe}
2012.
new year.
changes.
believe.
I have never been as read for a new year as I am for 2012. I cant express my thoughts in words.
2011 was not a bad year. I strongly believe that we live each day to its fullest potential and it will be the way it is meant to be. I was blessed, made many friends celebrated the birth of my precious godson, Mason. Many friends celebrated changes in their lives. Marriages, babies, new jobs.
All the while, I felt like I was coasting along. No big changes happened for me in 2011. I did not fulfill any resolutions. I feel like it as a wash in a sense.
2012 will be different. I have hopes and dreams for my photography business and myself.
Things I have wanted to do for years will be accomplished.
Glimpses into will be seen on this blog.
I am excited.
I am inspired.
Most importantly.... I BELIEVE.
However, since I am a southern gal... black eyed peas are a cooking!
They're evidently good luck in the new year.
I am not taking any chances!

{blessed}
I am blessed beyond measure.
I have amazing friends that support me in everything I do. They love on me and lift me up when I am down. They also call me out when I am being a brat.
Friends... what do they say? Something about the family you choose?
Blessed.
About a month ago, my good friend Blessy asked me to take some maternity pictures of her. I was thrilled. I have never done a maternity shoot before and she was willing to let me learn and practice on her.
Baby C was born last Thursday
Yesterday I was able to go snuggle with her.
She is beautiful.
What are you blessed with?

{blueberry pancakes}
This family means the world to me. I am blessed enough to work with the mom. She is the most amazing, strong, patient and godly woman I have ever met. She inspires me every single day (not to mention she also makes some cuuuute kids!)
I was able to spend the entire morning with this family! We started out by going to their Church, then running for a quick family shoot downtown Frisco. It was chilly and the kids were such TROOPERS.
We finished the morning by eating some brunch at 5th Street Patio Cafe. yea...amazing!
P had the Blueberry Pancakes.
I have a feeling they were delicious.
